Personal: to change or not to change?

In our previous house I did it all the time: constantly moving furniture around. In this house I haven’t yet, well only once in our bedroom. Since our situation is so messy most of the time during renovation, you want your livingroom to be a place where you can relax. But, my restless mind started itching and so I did some moving around. And I have to be honest: while I love the dining table on it’s new spot, the rest is not good at all so it will be back to normal after this blogpost. After this blogpost because, you know, I had to show you the result first right?

In our old house I was able to switch couch and TV-cabinets, and so I did regularly. I loved it, since it felt I had a complete new house! (and who wouldn’t want that?) But in this house, we are facing some challenges. For instance 2 doors and a fireplace. Don’t get me wrong, I love our house and I definitely don’t want to go back to our old house, but since I love moving around, I felt a bit sad this house doesn’t allow me to move around this much.

And so I challenge you today: move around your furniture and try out a new layout. You might be amazed at the results! For instance with this change, having the table in our bay window accentuates the length of the room. So try out wether your table should accentuate the length or the width. Try changing your couch and TV and I will say it again: you might be very happy with your result! And if the change makes you think that the previous situation was better, you just change it back. No damage done, you just confirmed your ideal situation.

I would love to hear if you move your furniture around a lot or maybe you’re really focused on keeping the situation just the way it is, please leave a comment. Have a great day!
