I always try to keep my blogposts entirely about interior and pretty pictures – man that is about to change. We received the key to our new house last Friday and we immediately started our renovation. We had a major setback since the house is still filled with stuff from the previous owner so it doesn’t entirely feel like our house yet, but if everything goes to plan this thursday everything will be out.
Funny detail about our renovation: the touch ID (being able to unlock your phone with your fingerprint) of my brand new iPhone 6 isn’t working anymore, since I completely wrecked my thumb on the first day. And you know that your renovation has started if the first thing in the morning you see in the mirror are pieces of wall plaster in your hair ;-)
The picture above is the number one thing I love about our new house. The big windows and the doors which can be opened to our garden. A house-wish came true for me! I also love the wooden floor, which will be as good as new after we’re done with it!
What a change right? Immediately the house felt more like it belonged to us once we’ve removed the yellowish wallpaper. We had a plasterer come by which will make our walls and ceiling look as new. I really can’t wait for that step, it will look fresh and ready to decorate.
I will get back to our kitchen because I am going to redo it with a small budget. I really dislike the look it has now, but there are about a thousand things that need to be done before we get to our kitchen. But I will definitely show you how to change your kitchen with minor changes!
Our hallway is pretty big and here you can see the wallpaper that also covered our whole living room. We could totally make this hallway so pretty, once the wallpaper and carpet is removed. We have some ideas, but it won’t be for long till we get to our hallway I guess.
Part of the living room contains this big hole in the wall. There was a fireplace and we will rebuild that. At first we wanted a heater standing on its own, but while I was working in the living room I felt a fireplace would be so much prettier and more fitting to the house.
So now I’ve shown you the first bits and pieces to our new house! It feels kinda wrong to show you these pictures, I love the bubble I am usually in of only pretty pictures but I also love showing you our new house which we are so excited about. We both have a lot of faith that it will become absolutely beautiful, so thats the feeling we’re holding onto. I hope you will like my renovation-posts!
