Renovation pt 14: update kitchen

IMG_8526

It is here! Last Friday night around 00.30 at night we finished our kitchen. Friday morning around 9 we started and said to ourselves that we wouldn’t stop before the kitchen was done, no matter the time. While it was a tough job en we were pretty tired afterwards, I’m very pleased we pushed ourselves because it was a GREAT feeling! Imagine waking up on Saturday, going downstairs and seeing your brand new kitchen, being able to wash your hands again, etc etc. Oh yes, that’s pretty awesome.

The first thing to finish on Friday was our sink and we’re so pleased with the choices we made! Everything in our kitchen is from IKEA and the white tap has been on my wishlist for several years.

We decided on 1 upper cabinet because we both weren’t thrilled about most extractors so we wanted a built-in. This one is called Underverk and the black stove is called Livslaga, also from Ikea.

As you can see we are far from done but it’s so nice to have running water and being able to cook again. Don’t get me wrong, I love pizza, but 3 weeks in a row… Ouch!

The wall on the right will change the least, we’ll have white tiles on the bottom and the brick wall will stay this way. It’s way too cool to cover! The wall next to that will be covered with plasterboards and the same tiles. That will make our kitchen even more pretty. We will have a new floor, but while we know what we want already, we haven’t ordered anything yet. Since there is still a lot of work to be done, we like the idea of ruining this floor better than the new one :)

If you’re interested in what our kitchen looked like before, here is part 1. Part 2 of our kitchen renovation is here. Have a great day!
