Frieda Kahlo poster

For a while I was looking for a new item above our couch. Not because I didn’t like the gold mirror anymore – just because I wanted something different. I didn’t really know what I wanted, as there are a few options; a styled shelf, a collage, one big frame, etcetera. I figured that I would know what I wanted when I saw it. And I did, when I found this Frieda Kahlo poster.

When I was in Amsterdam for an event I came across a store called “Art Unlimited” and I’ve been meaning to visit them for such a long time. So I took my chance – 5 minutes, to be exact – and browsed the store. When I saw this poster, I was in love. And while I didn’t buy it specifically for this spot, when I got home I immediately knew the colors would be perfect.

I love the colors, the artwork. I am a big admirer of Frieda Kahlo her work and her life story. She had many, many misfortunes but somehow stayed strong during them all. As you can see the poster has a quote on it and it translates as “Feet, what do I need them for, if I have wings to fly”. She wrote it in her diary before her foot had to be amputated, along with a drawing underneath, which is also in the poster. A beautiful poster with a strong message.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!

Love, Marrit
