Crimson Red

A new color by Farrow & Ball in collaboration with National History Museum, of course I wanted to try that! And while I loved our dark Studio Green wall, after over 2 years it was time for something new. Right?

This color is called Crimson Red and as I said, it’s part of the collaboration with The National History Museum. It’s from their new Colour by Nature palette, to bring the true colours of nature into your home. I am loving all the colors of this palette, but I am and always will be a sucker for pink, so yay Crimson Red! It’s such a warm tone and works so well with our velvet green couch and the white floor.

And it also combines really well with the red shade I painted our 2nd floor landing in ♥

When we renovated our attic, we decided to remove the ceiling/upper floor to reveal the ridge in all its glory. And as you can see, the color Crimson Red looks fresh to the white walls next to it, as well as the cool black baseboards.

This corner turned out so cosy. The couch is actually a sleeping couch for when people want to stay over – so next to comfy it’s also practical!

I have been playing and experimenting with colors so much over the last two years and I love how you can mix so many colors. I usually stay inside the muted palette, and by doing that you can mix and match all you want. As you can see in the photo above, you can easily mix red, green, terracotta, yellow with an even more colorful rug.

I hope this blogpost gives you some more color inspiration – a thing I love sharing here on the blog. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via email (info@donebymyself.nl) or my Instagram.

Thanks for reading!

Love, Marrit

PS. This paint was gifted to me by Farrow & Ball as part of their new collection. I only work with brands I love and Farrow & Ball is one of them for sure ♥
