Livingroom corner

I’ve written about our “no TV policy” here before, but I have to admit that in recent winter months the TV sneaked back in our living room from time to time. With those cold dark evenings it was nice to sit on the couch, covered in a warm plaid and watch some TV. But now, with the evenings getting less dark and spring is around the corner, it was time to get rid of the TV again. And even after I did this a few times before already, I was again surprised at how many possibilities this gives for your livingroom. Let’s jump in!

With a TV this corner will come down to a cabinet with a TV on top, but now it’s so much more cosy. This golden trolley is one of my favorite thrift-finds and it was in our attic for a long time. I wanted it back in the livingroom and this is the perfect corner for it. I dressed it up with this vintage Chinese lamp, magazines and some other accessories. The poster frames was an earlier project and I still love those.

Recently we went to the Erwin Olaf exhibition in The Hague and while a “real” Erwin Olaf on my wall will probably remain a dream for the rest of my life, I did buy some of his postcards in the museum shop. I am such a big fan of his work and while small, I am loving this hanging on my wall.

Isn’t this lamp amazing? We have 2, one next to our bed and one here. Lampshades provide such a warm light in the evening. The bird in the front can be found here.

So in short; nothing new but simply removing the TV and using what you already have can make such a difference. I vote for less TV’s in the livingroom, and more cosy corners. Who’s with me?

Thank you for reading!

Love, Marrit
