I think we all have these items in our house that are too pretty to throw away, but we don’t know how to use them either. Using them for a DIY-project can be a very good way of spicing these items up so that they do fit your interior. I had this bottle from IKEA for a long time and it was just standing in our closet. I did a blogpost about marbled mugs where I used nail polish, but I figured this could be done with paint as well. So here is a new easypeasy DIY for you to enjoy!
As you can see the effect is very subtle, which I like. I used acrylic paint in the colors white, pink and nude. I just poured the paint into the vase and started to move and shake the vase. I was a bit surprised how much paint was necessary, but I wanted to cover the whole vase so I needed more than I expected.
Sexy picture right? You just turn and turn the vase and stop when you reach your desired effect. I did a second vase but I overdid the amount of paint and I didn’t like the effect. So start with a little, you can always add more. Then I turned the vase upside down above the heating, so the paint could dry. That takes some time but after the few hours you can use the vase.
If you have any questions, I’d love to answer them. Good luck on this project!
Leuk effect en het vaasje heeft weer een nieuw leven gekregen. Mooi gedaan Marrit X
