Suddenly an overload of Mia’s room on the blog, but so much is happening! I had to share her new toddler bed, as you can imagine. I also made some other adjustments to her room with some new accessories so I will tell you all about it on the blog today.
So there it is, a big girl bed. While I don’t see our daughter as a “big girl” yet, we felt it was time for this change. I once saw her climbing out of her baby cot so that was a huge sign for me (safety first!) so it was time. I added a canopy above the bed to keep it a cosy area for her, which she calls her “tent”. When we kiss her goodnight when she goes to sleep, we have to close the tent. As you please darling ♥
I added a small rug next to the bed by brand I love Ferm Living. The kids selection of this brand is amazing and I certainly have some more of them on my wishlist. When I saw this strawberry rug, I knew it would finish the look of this corner. I love rugs and feel they always are a must-have for any room, and it’s very comfortable to have a rug next to the bed. Very happy about the white laminate in her room, but it’s always cold so this felt like a great idea! I doubted between the strawberry and pineapple rug, but Mia loves strawberries and the red is just a perfect match with the red walls.
While I usually would not choose something black for a toddler room, I felt the black version of this bed would work better than a white. And as usual, you can soften anything up with accessories around it. Our vintage commode in grey/green, a pink canopy and some wood doesn’t make it harsh at all. I might have some plans so change the color of the walls but ssh, don’t tell my husband yet ;)
Mia has been sleeping in her new bed for over a week now and she is loving it. It confirms to me that it was the right time to change it! I’ve said it in this post before and I’ll say it again; I am loving the idea of her room evolving from a babies room to a room for a toddler. It’s great seeing her grow up and that we are able to make her room grow with her.
Thank you for reading ♥
Love, Marrit
