When I knew I was going to be a mom, I made myself promise one thing; my daughter would have the most beautiful (and up to date!) photobooks. Because I am a photographer, I knew there would be no excuse for not having enough photos and books of her childhood. In other words: I felt a big responsibility about this. And while I will admit that I usually wait for the last moment, we’re still up to date. Our daughter Mia is turning 3 in September and I just received her book from her age 1 to 2. And that’s what I wanted to talk to you about in today’s blogpost.
Once Upon contacted me if I wanted to try their photobook app, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to finish Mia’s book. The best thing about Once Upon is that it’s an app on your mobile and you can simply select the photos from your phone. It’s very easy; you select the photos and the app automatically turns it into a layout. Let me show you some more so you have an idea of what it looks like!
As you can see, these books are focused entirely on the photos. I love the layouts you can choose from and the quality of the photos is great. It might be needless to say – but as a photographer I find that very important. I am not that type of mom to write texts with the photos, I want the photos to tell the story and if Mia wants to know something about it, we can share the stories.
As I shared before, I make books of years. Mia from birth to her first birthday was obviously a big transformation, but I found it so endearing to see that this age 1 to 2 turned her from a baby into a small human. The round face disappeared, she started walking and at age 2 she had turned into her tiny self. I get easily emotional when I see her old photos, and creating this book was a trip down memory lane. It was a great memory ♥
Thank you Once Upon for letting me create an album for our daughter. I’m sure it won’t be my last. Because Mia her birthday is coming up, I have a new book to make and for my photography work I think this works great as well.
