Looking back on 2017

It’s always nice to look back at the end of a year. 2017 is almost over and it always amazes me how fast a year flies by! I thought it would be a nice idea to look back on this year and see what my most-read posts were and share those with you. I am always so grateful looking at those statistics – that so many of you read and follow my blog. I love (!) doing this and it feels like a great recognition of my work, if you read and like it. So first, a big thanks to you all!

Of course 2017 has been a lot about becoming a mom. Our daughter was born september 2016 but seeing her develop this year from a baby to a walking toddler is amazing. I so love being a mom and while I don’t write about it that much here on the blog, I did write two posts on “The unexpected result of parenthood”, my take on that stuff no-one tells you about. Both posts were one of the best read posts of this year, and I’m hoping to share a few more of those next year. If you want to read them: part 1 is HERE and part 2 is HERE.

Speaking about becoming a mom: it has made me change my Instagram feed a lot. At first it was all about interior and I was always hesitant sharing personal stuff, thinking you wouldn’t want to see it. But somewhere this year I realized that it would be crazy to adjust MY Instagram into something for YOU. So no, I needed to change that. I am loving so much more things in life than only interior, so it also involves our daughter now, fashion, lifestyle and everything that inspires me. It was the best read post of this year, and so many of you agreed with me. If you haven’t read it, you can find it HERE.

Also a big part of our 2017 was the renovation of our attic. We’ve had some bumps in the road (there always are) and it’s nowhere finished, but we did finish one room and we love it so much. It’s everything we were going for; a cosy room where we could relax, filled with beautiful items and colors. I guess you loved following our journey because the posts are always well-read. If you want to see the results, part 1 is HERE and part 2 is HERE.

But hey guys, let’s not forget my two minutes of fame of this year. Our house was filmed for a story on the website of fonQ ánd our house was on TV! It’s so nice seeing your house in video because it’s totally different than photography. Both were great experiences for sure. The hometour for fonQ can be found HERE and speaking about our house on TV can be found HERE.

Last but not least we need to talk about the changes we made to our house this year. Painting our attic in those beautiful colors we decided we needed some color in the rest of our house as well. So we did! You really loved the transformation of our bedroom, going from practically all-white to a dark blue. And we loved it so much as well! The livingroom got an update with nude/pink walls and I am still contemplating what color I should paint our daughters room, because that definitely needs some color now as well. The bedroom makeover can be found HERE.

So yes, I am looking back at an amazing year where so many stuff happened and they were almost all good. I will be ending with a personal note: a while ago one of my best friends received the horrible news that her mom is very sick. It makes me realize how happy we all should be to be in good health. They had to spent Christmas in a hospital, which is obviously not how it’s supposed to be. I am so thankful for all the good things happening in my life and news like my friend got, makes me realize it even more. Keep your loved ones close, people. Thank you all for joining this journey with me, I love what I’m doing and what it brings me. I can’t thank you enough <3
