I rarely write personal stories on this blog but I felt it would be rude not to mention something about leaving our old house. While it would never be a type of house we’d want to buy, it was our home and we liked it.
In the last 4 years we moved 4 times, which wasn’t something to enjoy. The first house we moved in together was for sale and unfortunately (for us) it was sold after living there for only 6 months so 3 months later we had to leave. The next house was so pretty, but we were not allowed to change anything about the house so it didn’t feel like “our” house and we only lived there for 9 months. So when we moved to the house pictured above, we really liked that we could paint the walls, drill holes in the walls wherever we wanted etcetera. We made it our house, and while we are so happy to be leaving for our new house, we both felt a bit sad when closing the front door for the last time.
Because we could make this house our own, it gave me the opportunity to really focus on my love for interior which eventually led to my blog. On one hand our house became a mess because of all my DIY-projects, on the other hand I loved the freedom the house gave me. We lived there for 1.5 years and off course living there we faced some challenges – professionally and personal, but it was a safe place for us to return to, away from everything outside.
So there we go, onto a next chapter in our life with a new house. Thank you old house :)
