“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” – William Morris
A quote I immediately thought of when I saw this Jessica Hans vase for HAY. You can buy a vase purely for practical reasons, but vases can also be beautiful at the same time or in this case, even a piece of art. Surrounding myself with items like this make me happy and I would advice anyone not just to look at practicality, but also at beauty.

Because if you do, you will experience that items like vases can be displayed even without flowers, and don’t have to be tucked away in closets, waiting for a next bouquet of flowers.

If you’re into art and especially ceramics Jessica Hans‘ work is a joy to look at. The organic shape and use of colors is what attracted me most in this vase. And I love that even without flowers it’s an item that looks great in our house.

For now I’ve handpicked some flowers and put them in the vase. I love when you can pick out the flowers yourself in a store! I’ll experiment with all sorts of flowers for this vase as I think many will work. And next to that, so happy with the recent sunny weather which means our garden doors are open all day long. Colorful photos like above and below really can brighten up your mood, especially mixed with a little sunshine.

So, next time you want to buy a vase, make sure it’s pretty enough without flowers as well, like this one ♥
Thank you for reading and have a great day!
Love, Marrit
