Shoplog: Panthella lamp

IMG_7166

Right around the corner of our new house is a shop specialized in used art&design and it’s called Tolve. I love to come there because they always have beautiful items. So when I walked in last week and saw the Panthella lamp, I was unstoppable. What a beauty! I asked the owner about some information – I saw the lamp several times before, but I never knew what the name or designer was. We were looking for a floor lamp which would light up the whole room so this was a perfect match.

The Panthella lamp was designed in 1971 by Verner Panton, who is mostly famous because of this chair. The lamp is currently next to our dining table and I love it next to our new curtains (yes, they need sewing :-). I think I will move it around later, but since we haven’t decided what to hang above our dining table it fits great there for now.

As I said earlier we we’re looking for a lamp that would light up the whole room, instead of a small spot like most floor lamps do. This Panthella lamp definitely does the trick, since it’s made of opaline. This material lets the light shine through, instead of blocking it. We’re really happy about it!
