I wanted something different to hang above our couch, and with posters I just couldn’t find a great match. A black poster gave too much contrast, a white poster too much white, and so on. But then I found this mirror from this Dutch brand called Zuiver Bandit! I doubted a long time between the copper version or this gold one, but eventually felt gold was the better option for our home. Not to mention the fact you always look nice and tanned in a gold mirror :)
An item like this above the couch is a bit out of the box, and that’s why I like it. I felt with posters it looked a bit too graphical with all those straight lines so this is a great solution. The round shape of this Zuiver Bandit mirror softens up this area and the gold color even adds to that effect.
As you can see in the photos of this blogpost is that a mirror has a great side-effect; it reflects the opposite of the room or – in this case – shows the beautiful tree standing in our front garden. It is like a living painting inside your house :)
As you can see in this blogpost I already made some changes to our collection of pillows on the couch, with the mirror I really loved the pop of yellow with it. Our persian rug keeps surprising me with it’s versatility, basically every color goes with it. So I change a lot when it comes to pillows, a great way to boost your interior.
The pile of magazines beneath our coffee table is a DIY and can be found HERE.
So my tip for today is to think outside the box when it comes to wall decoration. Especially in a couch area where all lines are straight, try different shapes to soften it up.
