Wallpaper, a much-discussed topic here in the house. I’ve been looking into wallpapering a wall in our house for a long time already, I just haven’t found a perfect wall. I was thinking of wallpapering our fireplace, but I recently painted that so for now I’ve put that on hold. However, looking at that beautiful Arte wallpaper we see in the photo above, I’m immediately doubting my idea, ha.
I love wallpaper for several reasons and I thought I would list a few of my favorites on the blog today. So, why do I want to add wallpaper to our house?
Firstly, it adds texture. There is no comparing a painted wall to wallpaper. A painted wall will mostly be a flat surface, where with wallpaper you can experiment with different textures, fabrics, etc. A second reason to go for wallpaper is to add a pattern. I’ve already added (a lot of) color to our house, but they are all big surfaces, in 1 color. Wallpaper usually plays with patterns and it can create a very interesting wall. And last but not least, wallpapering your house is the best way to personalize your house, and make it as unique as can be. If picking out a wall color is one thing, adding wallpaper is definitely the next level. You can play with it, and make it as bold as you want.
So, shall we move on to my favorites?

Musa wallpaper by Arte. The gold adds a luxury feel and I love the combination of the different leafs.

Chiavi Segrete by Cole & Son. The botanical trend is very much visible in wallpaper, as a lot of them are inspired by leafs of some kind. This specific wallpaper comes in many color ways, but I prefer this red one the most, with the golden keys. Love it!

When choosing wallpapers I immediately notice I’m most drawn to colors like gold, red and green. This Forest wallpaper, also by Cole & Son is so spectacular. The picture above is such a bold image, it creates a really cosy dining room. If you’re looking for a bit safer option, this wallpaper could also work beautifully in a hallway or landing.

This Blushing Sloth wallpaper by Mooooi was on my list for our fireplace. I love the graphic pattern, but at the time it feels soft because it’s so textured.

At last I wanna mention the beautiful wallpapers by Ferm Living. I love this brand so much, it’s been featured here on the blog many times before. I’ve been looking into their wallpapers for our daughters room many times, I especially love the Trees, the Koala, and the Birds.

Oh and last but definitely not least, their Coral is also SO beautiful. Will anyone stop me, please? I could talk and enjoy these beautiful wallpapers all day long. Now let’s find a wall where I can indulge in my love for wallpaper. If you have any ideas, let me know!
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
Love, Marrit
