A relatively new category on my blog: Design Classics. I am a true design lover and collector, and so I thought it would be a nice idea to tell a little more about our design items. How and when we bought them, stuff like that. Today I will be talking about our Ligne Roset Togo and it’s safe to say that this is my favorite design piece ever. You can see here the first time I showed it on the blog. Let’s talk more ♥
I have always loved the look of a Togo, ever since I first saw it. My husband though wasn’t a fan, so it took me some years to buy it. In the end it turns out he just needed to get used to the design, because now he absolutely loves it and it’s one of his favorites as well. I bought this Togo via Mariekke Vintage which means that we have a vintage Togo, reupholstered by them. You can choose any color or fabric you want, and as there are so many options, it was quite the task. But Mariekke always has some Togo’s ready, and I immediately fell in love with this blue velvet version. Blue is a color that is always present in our room, so I knew it would make a great match.
Let me show you all the setting and color combinations I’ve done with it:
As you can see this chair took a tour around our livingroom and has seen basically every corner already. The surprising thing about this Togo is that it’s so lightweight, while it looks the opposite.
Why we love it so much is because it’s super comfortable. It’s so nice to sit in, read a book or whatever, as it hugs you in all the right places. My husband and I have the secret dream to once have a house with a “Togo-room” which basically means a room with a lot of Togo’s in it. Because it’s a modular system you can combine them all. We could simply buy a twoseater in the same fabric and make it a 3-persons couch. Who knows what will happen in the future for us!
Last week I completely repainted our livingroom so in the near future I have a new color combo I can show you. Keep an eye out on the blog!
Thanks for reading and have a great day,
Love, Marrit
