UPDATE; part 2 is online and you can find it HERE!
While not entirely finished, I couldn’t wait any longer with sharing more photos of Mia’s room makeover. Yay! I’m so happy with how it turned out.
I loved her red room, since this is a big room it made it much more cosy. But lately I got really inspired with natural-looking nurseries and I didn’t really like the black bed in combination with the red. So, I took my time figuring out which shade would be the perfect one. I enlisted the help of Susanne from the blog frivole.nl. She knows her colors so well and I needed someone to brainstorm with. She lend me a few paint swatches and I was leaning more and more towards a warm beige. The only thing I was hesitant about was wether it would clash with the colored ceiling, because I didn’t want to paint that. It’s the original color, so I didn’t want to ruin that. But after I fell in love with this color called “Soft Linen” by Painting the Past I knew I just had to do it.
And yes, it was the perfect shade for this room. I love that we are able to have this rug in her room again, and I added a canopy from Numero 74 to her room from Smallable. We also moved her Brio kitchen upstairs, and she loves playing with it. I feel this is now really transformed from a babies room to a toddler one.
I also switched spots for the commode and the closet. They are both painted in shade “Kiezelgroen” and one of my terms for the new wall color was that it would match these so we didn’t have to paint them. And while I secretly fell in love with a nude/pink closet I found on Pinterest, I’m not setting myself up with the task of painting both closets. Never say never, though.
I still owe you one part of the room though that isn’t finished yet, so make sure to keep an eye out on the blog. Soon more, I promise. Including a design chair it took so long to find ♥
