Those who have been following my blog for a while know that rugs are one of my biggest loves when it comes to interior decorating. I’ve written a couple of times about the effect of rugs already, but there’s always more to share. Today I’m basically sharing some styling fun I had the other day when I was playing with 2 rugs at a time. Because even though I love our vintage persian rug, sometimes I want to try something a little different.
At first I tried to layer this beni ouarain in the middle, but it felt a little too boring to my taste.
Then I tried to layer it the other way, and I liked it. Something different and accentuating the length of the room; now it got interesting!
Eventually I chose this layout. Both rugs layered the same way, but the beni ouarain a little offcenter. I felt this fitted our sitting area better, with the 2 chairs on top of it. It adds a lot of warmth to the room because of the beni ouarain being more long-piled. And while I love the vintage persian rug with all its colors, I love the simplicity of this white rug.
Playing with the rugs I also decided I wanted this coffee table back in our livingroom. And how to style a coffee table? Exactly, with coffee table books <3 I love those, filled with inspiration and so pretty to look at. A new styling item is this Lampadina Tafellamp by Flos. You all know I love design lights and their quirky designs. I also love the orange look of this light, such an eye-catcher designed by Achille Castiglioni.
If you take a closer look you can see the detail I love the most: the partly muted globe. How cool is that?
So, that’s it! You can imagine I was having a lot of fun playing with these rugs together and styling our “new” coffee table. The result looks comfy and cosy so this experiment will stay for a little longer. Thank you for watching this with me!
