A new hallway update on the blog! Last time I wrote about painting our stairs, this time it’s more of a decorating kind. I moved our Vitra George Nelson bench downstairs and think it looks stunning here. It was in our bedroom first, and then I moved it onto the landing. It was very nice there as well, but as I wanted to restyle our hallway I immediately thought of this bench and how the size would be perfect for this spot. As it turns out, it was!
I just wanted something here that was going to be beautiful at all times. A hallway is such an easy space to clutter – especially in our house with a lot of items going in and out for my vintage shop. Next to that we had 3 kids’ bikes here where only 1 of them was being used so I was ready for a change. I put the bench here and styled it with books and magazines, and other small items. After that, I did a big sigh of relief, feeling like I had my pretty hallway back. Now our only job is to keep it this way. Wish us luck – we need it!
I kept natural colors as a theme, with yellow and terracotta as matches for the Chalky Coral wall color by Pure & Original. I love the combination of these tones together.
On the other side of our hallway, I added a big thrifted Oriental vase filled with pampas. I immediately loved it when I spotted it at the store, the big size, the peacocks and gold handles. I had to bring it!
Not much has changed on this gallery wall as I still love how this it put together. The pampas on the bottom right is the perfect added texture.
And I love how you can see the pampas with this view from the livingroom, as well. I think a lot of people forgo on decorating the hallway, but I really want to style this as any other room. So as you can probably imagine, I’m very happy with the result as I’m showing you today ♥
Thank you for reading and have a great day!
Love,
Marrit
